Latin Link partner wins book awardSound biblical teaching is essential to the life of the church and quality books are one way of ensuring that Latin American Christians get the teaching they need. Brazilian Christian publisher, the Editora Cristã Evangélica (ECE), has won first prize in the Christian Education category of the Christian Booksellers Association awards for 2001 for their study book A Cruz de Cristo based on John Stotts The Cross of Christ.
The award will be presented to Johns colleague Pastor Marcos Vinicius de Oliveira at the Bienal do Livro, Latin Americas largest book fair taking place from 25 April to 5 May in São Paulo. John sees the fair as a great opportunity to reach a wider audience and is encouraged that the city council is giving tokens to local school children to spend at the fair. ECE has halved the price of its young peoples books allowing the children to buy three with their tokens. ECE has just launched a new book on stewardship Tudo Entregarei (I Surrender), a title inspired by Frances Ridley Havergals hymn, Take my life and let it be. What God is this? a book on the Trinity for young people, was also published recently. Editora
