Mission Statement
1. Our Vision
Latin Link works in partnership with Latin American Christians for the advance of the mission of Christ.
2. Our Calling
We are called to love God and our neighbour by:
THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOOD NEWS OF CHRIST: by life and speech, individually and alongside others, we seek to bear witness and lead others to Christ, in whom alone - as Saviour, Lord and God - there is salvation, liberation and hope.
THE TRAINING OF THE PEOPLE OF CHRIST: by model and teaching, in churches, seminaries, universities and with individuals, we seek to share together with our Latin American sisters and brothers in the formation and development of people, especially leaders, who will be Christ-like in character and behaviour as well as in word.
THE SHARING OF THE COMPASSION OF CHRIST: in co-operation with the church, we seek to help provide resources for service to the poor, marginalised and disadvantaged in society.
3. Our Nature
UNITY:
Latin Link is a fellowship of people who, alongside our supporters and supporting
churches,
- are committed to demonstrating the interdependence of the worldwide church;
- encourage cross-cultural mission;
- seek to channel resources to and from Latin America.
DIVERSITY: We are a diverse group in personality, gifts, church background and culture, who unite in open and caring fellowship for the furtherance of the mission of Christ. We commit ourselves to the work of God through Latin Link in mutual responsibility, support, encouragement and direction.
CREATIVITY: We believe in encouraging creativity and initiative in each other, and in allowing for the development and use of gifts and talents.
ACCOUNTABILITY: We believe in leadership which is elected, which communicates ethos and vision, carries authority in mutually agreed areas, and seeks to serve individuals and the fellowship with the servant attitude of Christ. We are developing a structure which is flexible and encourages as much decentralised decision-making as possible.
HUMILITY: We commit ourselves to be facilitators in the work of God, in and from Latin America, through service in genuine partnership.
INTEGRITY: We aim for lifestyle and witness which are biblical, evangelical and in harmony with our Statement of Faith.
