THE
BUSHCAMPS SAFARI
Luangwa Experience
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport,
you will be collected for your journey to Mfuwe Lodge.
Day 1: Mfuwe Lodge
The open-plan design of Mfuwe's new structures keeps the comfort and relaxation
of guests in mind, but also capitalises on the fact that an African wilderness
experience is a blend of colours and textures, sounds, aromas and sights
unmatched anywhere else in the world.

Accommodation is provided in
18 open-plan chalets, each with en-suite bathroom. One third of each chalet's
perimeter can be opened, to allow the guest to enjoy the views, the sounds,
the scents and the mood of the African wilderness. Each chalet has a large
private deck overlooking one of the lagoons. The bathrooms have both bath
and shower, with separate toilet. The bathing corner can be completely
opened to offer guests an open-air bathing experience. Five Chalets are
suites with an elevated sleeping area, to allow space for a double bed,
and increased lounging area.
Days 2 and 3: Chamilandu
Spend the first 2 nights of your safari, at Chamilandu exploring the ebony
groves and ox bow lagoons. Chamilandu Bush camp offers the connoisseur
comfort class and beauty in one of the Luangwa’s prime river venues. Open
to a 180° vista, the front of each tree house chalet provides the exciting
frame for all of Luangwa Valleys diversity. Subtle décor adorns the 2m
high tree houses. The tasteful blend of wrought iron and brass offsets
the cream and pastels that welcome you to rest and relax. A series of
seven ox-bow lagoons yield dramatic habitat changes and attract an abundance
of wildlife.

Chamilandu offers travelers
the classic African adventure.
Days 4 and 5: Chindeni
After an early breakfast at Chamilandu,
set off on your trail to Chindeni, arriving in time for a hearty brunch.
Spend 2 nights at Chindeni viewing the game from your own private raised
wooden decking over the still waters of the lagoon and exploring the evergreen
forests on foot. Surrounded by majestic hills, shaded by ancient ebonies
and nestled on the apex of an ox-bow lagoon, Chindeni helps weave the
spell that is Africa. Chindeni will stand proud in your memory as a place
of magic.

Each tent has its own raised
veranda from which to veiw the resident game and enjoy the serene yet
breathtaking tranquility of the vast lagoon, from a vantage point of relative
safety.
Days 6 and 7: Bilimungwe
Walking south once more, towards the
confluence of the Kapamba and Luangwa rivers, Bilimungwe bush camp holds
the distinction of being the southernmost camp in the National park. It
offers not only the solitude you have come to enjoy, but also the ideal
opportunity to discover yet another face of the Luangwa Valley, exploring
on foot or in a vehicle. Bilimungwe’s permanent water hole is a popular
venue for wildlife and the shallow clear Kapamba River offers the perfect
setting to cool down, relax and reflect on the Luangwa encounter that
you have just experienced.

Crossing the Luangwa River on
the rustic pontoon sees you wave a sad farewell to the remote sanctity
you have discovered and open a page on the final chapter of your African
adventure. Add-on option Spend an additional night either side of your
Luangwa Encounter Safari Experience at Mfuwe Lodge, a luxurious lodge
inside the National Park overlooking the Mfuwe Lagoon. Mfuwe Lodge sits
poised like an island paradise between two affluent lagoons affording
constant spectacular game viewing. Together with the extensive network
of winding game loops at your disposal and the high standards of the lodge,
Mfuwe Lodge completes the Safari experience of a lifetime.
