Dar es Salaam & Selous Game Reserve

Day 1 On arrival we will collect you from the airport and transfer you to Mediterraneo Hotel where you can spend the morning relaxing on the beach. In the afternoon you can do a city tour taking in the sights & sounds of Dar es Salaam. Overnight at Mediterranoe Hotel on Bed & Breakfast Basis.

Day 2 The Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest covering 55,000 sq.kms of unspoilt wilderness and containing almost three quarters of a million wild animals including the world's largest elephant population. Rufiji River camp is a tented camp situated in the north eastern part of the Selous on a high bank overlooking the mighty Rufiji River and the plain beyond.

The camp accomodates guests in 20 very comfortable tents. Each tent has twin bed with mosquito nets, completely equipped private bathroom and comfortable verandah facing a magnificent view. The central restaurant provides excellent exotic and international cuisine. A well equipped bar gives the guests a wide choice of beverages.

Besides walking safaris and 4wd car excursions, a major attraction is the Boat Trip along the Rufiji RIver and the adjoining lakes where hippo, crocodile and 400 species of birds can be observed. Sport fishing facilities are available.

Arrive for lunch at Rufiji River Camp, where you can enjoy the view over the Rufiji River, home of many hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and over night at Rufiji River Camp. FB

Day 3 After breakfast you will make a boat trip, viewing the game from the boat. Return for lunch to the Camp, and have an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and over night at Rufiji River Camp. FB.

Day 4 After breakfast go for a walking safari. Enjoy walking in the bush close to the animals with an armed ranger. Return to the Camp and after lunch you will go for a game drive. Over night and dinner at Rufiji River Camp. FB

Day 5 After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with a packed lunch, and be dropped at Mediterraneo Hotel. Over night.BB

Day 6 Early morning breakfast and transfer to the airport for onward flight home or ot another destination such as Zanzibar, Kenya or Malawi.
