Mikumi National Park

You spend 2 nights at Foxes Safari Camp in Mikumi National Park, enjoying good game as well ask good food and wonderful scenery.

Mikumi National Park is the closest National Park to Dar es Salaam and is nestled between the Uluguru mountains to the northeast, and the Rubeho mountains, Udzungwa mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the south west. As part of the Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area.

'Camp fires and warm hospitality create a relaxing bush atmosphere against which to experience the thrill of being close to the multitudes of wild animals in timeless Africa.' This is the only small, personalised camp in Mikumi and, set up on a rocky kopje on the Mkata flood plain, it presides over the best game viewing area of the park, the Mwanamboga waterhole.

Exclusive camping 'African' style, combines creature comforts with the real bush experience; ideal for those wishing to be in the "thick of it" immersed amongst the wildlife. 8 custom designed tents raised on wooden platforms are sited around the rock kopje overlooking the floodplain

Features of our Accomodation 8 tents with en suite shower toilet and basin, hot water Twin beds with mosquito nets Private veranda Electricity until 11pm Drinking water available Complimentary laundry service Tea and coffee available on request.

Katavi National Park

You fly from Mikumi to Katavi National Park, you have 4 nights in this park with the opportunity to do some game walking as well as game drives. Katavi consists of a series of secret floodplains that open up in front of you as you arrive through their woodland fringes. Katavi National Park, one of Tanzania's most westerly and remote parks, is only just beginning to gain recognition for it's beauty and the quality of it's game viewing. It is remote in the extreme and with just 200 visitors a year is the ultimate in off the beaten track safari destinations. If you have the time and resources, it is the definitive safari destination.

Katavi Wilderness Camp is very exclusive and located in the best game area so that you can watch the daily movements of game between food and water and witness the dramas unfold before you. Our tents, luxurious in size and furnishings, are cunningly set back in amongst the trees that line the floodplain, providing both shade and camouflage in the prime game viewing area of the park, where the wildlife are unaware of your presence.

Ruaha National Park

On leaving Katavi you again take to the air for the flight to Ruaha, here you spend 3 nights at Ruaha River Lodge. You will rarely meet any other vehicles on your game drives around Ruaha's extensive and well-maintained road network. Our highly trained English speaking guides will lead you to an abundance of leopard, lion, cheetah and hunting dog, not to mention several rare species including Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable antelopes.

Our guiding is superlative with specialist guides having built up an extensive local knowledge whilst living and working in the park. This ensures you don't miss out on the flora and fauna that normally go unnoticed to the untrained eye.

- Game drives are taken in specially adapted open 4 WD vehicles. The seating is tiered to maximise visibility for each passenger.
-Each car is extremely well-maintained and is equipped with a two-way radio.
-Game drives are led by an experienced guide with a driver.
-Refreshments are served on longer excursions and a packed lunch can be taken on a full days game drive.
-Game drives usually follow the pattern of a full mornings drive returning to the Lodge for lunch and an afternoon siesta, followed by a shorter evening drive starting at 4pm. A full days drive can also be taken.
-The guides, trained and led by Peter Fox, your host at Ruaha River Lodge, are all locally born and bred with an instinctive knowledge of the bush.
-The roads in the park are all weather roads and remain open all year round.
-There is no off road driving or night driving allowed in Ruaha National Park.
