Days 1 & 2: Your safari commences in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. A Safari Africa representative will meet you on arrival at the airport. You will be transferred to Kwara Camp by light aircraft (approximately 20 minutes), taking you on a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. The following two nights will be spent at Kwara Camp. Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the Okavango Delta within the private Kwando Safaris concession area. The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks. Each tent has its own viewing deck and private en-suite facilities.

The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland river systems. The Okavango River, born in the uplands of Angola to the northwest, flows into and fans out across the Kalahari Desert to form an immense inland delta of lagoons, channels and palm fringed islands. This fragile ecosystem is home to a wide diversity of birds and wildlife that is of the very best to be seen in Africa.

Activities available at Kwara camp include bird watching, mokoro excursions, fishing, walks with a guide on one of the many palm-fringed islands and also spectacular night drives on top of our morning and afternoon drives. After breakfast on day three, we transfer from Kwara Camp to Xakanaxa in Moremi Game Reserve by motor boat (approximately 2 hour boat trip), exploring the Okavango Delta en-route.

Days 3 & 4: Mobile Tented Safari in the Xakanaxa Region of Moremi Game Reserve
Moremi Game Reserve forms an intricate part of the Okavango Delta with permanently swamped areas and dry-land. Where land and Delta meet at Xakanaxa, a mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests and lagoons provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat where a multitude of animals and birds flourish. The following two nights are spent camping in an exclusive HATAB campsite in the Xakanaxa region, exploring the area on game drives during the day.

Days 5 & 6: Mobile Tented Safari in the Khwai Region of Moremi Game Reserve. After breakfast, we depart for Khwai in Moremi Game Reserve (approximately a 4 hour drive through the park), stopping for a picnic lunch en-route.

The Khwai River flows from the Okavango Delta. Dumbo Hippo Pools is a spectacular picnic spot where hippo can be seen throughout the year. The bridge over the river Khwai is an excellent example of African engineering.

The following two nights are spent camping in an exclusive HATAB campsite in the Khwai region, exploring the area on game drives during the day.

Days 7 & 8: Mobile Tented Safari in the Savuti Region of Chobe National Park After breakfast, we depart for Savuti in Chobe National Park (approximately a 6 hour drive through the park), stopping for a picnic lunch en-route. The road from Khwai to Savuti follows the Khwai River, an excellent area for game viewing.

Savuti is a seemingly endless desolate landscape, famous for the dry marsh, sand ridge and volcanic hills which are unique to this area. The vast Savuti Marsh is home to a variety of dry-land animals, including: zebra, wildbeest, kudu, giraffe, leopard and lion. Large elephant bulls can be seen drinking from the waterholes at sunset. Savuti boats a spectacular Zebra migration in the summer months (November - April).

The following two nights are spent camping in an exclusive HATAB campsite in the Savuti region. Over the next two days, we explore the area on game drives. Accompanied by your guide, you may leave the vehicle on foot to view the ancient bushman paintings on the rock face of a volcanic hill. The more energetic individuals can climb to the top of the hill and enjoy a panoramic view of the area.

Days 9 & 10: Mobile Tented Safari in the Chobe Region of Chobe National Park
After breakfast, we depart for the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park (approximately a 6 hour drive through the park), stopping for a picnic lunch en-route. The road passes through large protected forest reserves. The following two nights are spent camping in an exclusive HATAB campsite situated near the Chobe River front, exploring the area on game drives during the day. The Chobe River is a back-water of the Zambezi River which originates from Angola. The Chobe forms the eastern boundary between Botswana and Namibia. The Chobe region boasts the largest concentration of elephants in Africa as well as an abundance of birds, crocodiles, lion, buffalo and hippo.

Days 11 & 12: Lodge accommodation at Songwe Village in Livingstone, Zambia We embark on an early morning boat cruise on the Chobe River, departing from White Sands in Chobe National Park and arriving in Kasane. A light breakfast will be served aboard the boat. Your guide and vehicle will be awaiting your arrival in Kasane. At the convergence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, we cross into Zambia on the Kazangula Ferry. It is a this point that you can see four African countries converge, namely: Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. From Kazangula Border, you will be transferred by road to Songwe Village (approximately 1.5 hours drive). Although the road is rugged in sections, the drive is scenic, with lush vegetation, passing through numerous traditional villages, and at certain peaks in the road you will look out over the Zambezi River.

Songwe Village is on the Zambia side of the Zambezi river and perched 300 feet above the deeply incised and rugged Batoka gorge, 5km downstream from the Victoria Falls. Songwe Village is built to resemble a traditional village and the atmosphere is just as peaceful, calm and relaxed as the local villages.

Your exposure to African culture will be subtle and interesting. The huts are spacious with tasteful traditional furniture enhanced by modern comfortable mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep. Each hut has a flush loo and basin en suite. The showers and baths are separate units set on the edge of the Batoka gorge - enabling Songwe to claim that they have the best bathroom views in the world. Bathing will be a highlight of your stay with us.

The classic Songwe Village 2 night experience includes the following activities:
· A guided visit to the Victoria Falls
· A trip to the 700 year old Mukuni village
· A cruise on the upper Zambezi river
· An ox wagon trip to the Songwe field museum
· A safari to the national Park to look for white rhino

Your safari ends in Livingstone. After breakfast on the last day, you will be transferred to the airport
