A very different sort of quiz this time - in November, regulars at the Ox, as well as some of the far-flung international Artistes on the label, were asked to nominate their top 20 albums of all-time. The next month saw much heated debate, feverish revisionism, and sneaky looking at other people's answers. Each top 20 was accompanied by the entrance fee of One Album (not necessarily one from the Top 50, in fact by and large it was any old album found in a charity shop that morning) and a guess at the eventual top 10. And the prize for correctly guessing the eventual Best 10 albums? Why, all the shit albums everyone else had donated of course!
December 7th, Dave Dixey Sorted Supremo's Official Birthday, saw the Top 50 countdown, and a jolly time was had by all, except perhaps Tim from Prolapse, who got the top 10 right and had to carry home a huge pile of rubbish records.
