Smithsend Family

Smithsend is the original form of the family name. The Smithsends came from Tewkesbury and one branch moved to Pershore in about 1600 and these became the Smithin family. The other branches remained in Tewkesbury and kept the Smithsend form of the name. The last person with the surname Smithsend died in 1837 but the name was used as a forename by some descendants in the Phelps family.
