Maggie won best actress for her role in Comrades, Almost a Love Story at the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, the Annual Hong Kong Film Awards and also the 34th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards, where she is pictured above with Tse Kwan Ho and Chan Kuo. Tse won best actor for his role in The Mad Phoenix, and Chan won best director for Made in Hong Kong.

For her portrayal of Yuen Ling Yuk in "Actress", Maggie won both the Berlin Silver Bear Award for Best Actress at the Berlin International Film Festival and Best Actress at the Annual Hong Kong Film Awards

Maggie was also nominated Best Actress for New Dragon Inn, again at the Annual Hong Kong Film Awards
