Ju-Jutsu is an ancient fighting art developed by the Samurai Warriors of old Japan. Owing to the clouded mists of time it is impossible to accurately trace the history of what can best be described as a 'complete fighting system', which included the use of swords, sticks, throws, grappling and holds, as well as arm locks and strangulations. Hand to hand unarmed standing combat would include punches and strikes to vital areas of the body, blocks and subtle methods of unbalancing an opponent.

All in all 'real' Ju-Jutsu is a lethal fighting system. Modern sporting interpretations of this ancient art are excellent for sporting purposes and to a certain extent will enable the practitioner to defend themselves. However such versions are not real Ju-Jutsu as the truth is it is impossible to practise the 'real' style because it is so lethal.
Having said that, by removing the weapons and dangerous techniques it is possible to teach certain grappling and throwing aspects to children. Serious minded adults can expand their skills to include blocks, punches and kicks along with the throwing, grappling, arm locks etc.
At Eurokwai we teach JUDO which is the throwing and grappling elements of Ju-Jutsu; and KARATE which is the punching, blocking and kicking elements of Ju-Jutsu.
