SELAM
Second Line Agents in Myositis
We need you !!!
King's college London is coordinating a new study into the treatment of polymyositis and dermatomyositis. This study is known as SELAM.
If you are currently receiving prednisolone or other corticosteroids as part of your drug therapy, you may be eligible to help us on the trial.
The study will assess the value of adding immuno-suppressant drugs, either cyclosporine or methotrexate or both, to corticosteroid treatment.
The study will last 56 weeks. Participants will be monitored on a fortnightly basis initially, then with monthly visits. Monitoring consists of a blood test and a short questionnaire.
Hospitals in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle will be taking part in the SELAM trial.
