The Myositis Support Group was formed in 1985 by Les and Irene Oakley after their daughter Paula was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis at 6 years of age.  The charity now supports both adults and children with all forms of Myositis.  The diseases can be very disabling and can cause much distress and pain in adults and children, and in rare cases death can occur.  There is no cure and funds are needed to support the research work funded by the Support Group.  This year David Littler will be running in the marathon in support of the group.
