Andy Anderson's Weirdness

[embroidery owls]
[entoptic images]
[Gavr'inis]
[Portel]

Well, it happened like this. Ages and ages ago I got interested in the chambered cairn at Gavr'inis in Brittany. I think it was because of one of those "deckchairs of the Gods" television programmes. I'd never been there but the imagery fascinated me. Linking my interest in that sort of thing with my interest in music, a friend pointed me at a brief note on the resonances in the caves at Portel. I was hooked. I started reading about cognitive archaeology and cutting up lengths of pipe. I also discovered that the "entoptic" imagery is a whole field of study on its own. And that's when the embroidery designs started. The rest, as they say, is history. Sad or What? Scarre and Bradley have a lot to answer for. The way I found Beselich is equally strange: read about it here.
