Meet Quad

As a long time fan of railways in general and monorails in particular, it was a foregone conclusion that I'd buy the Mindstorms® kit when they announced the Aerial Tram "mission". For the record, I think that the Mindstorms® site is a pretty good example of how this stuff ought to be done: a great deal of thought has gone into making the site do exactly what it should and if there's any justice in this world they should be making a lot of money out of it.

The beastie

There's a "how to" on the Mindstorms® site which details how Anthony Fudd built one of these beasts and if I'm being honest, his solution is way better than mine. This man has built a photocopier out of lego using the rcx as a brain: I am just not worthy. But, I wanted to have something running which I could program right now: I'd carried the box home on the bus and I wanted to play. Enter QuAD, The QUick And Dirty tram. Not elegant but it gets the job done. Click on the beastie for more details...
