Going Places

I really enjoy just going to places and finding out how they work. I've been fortunate enough to have a number of enjoyable holidays abroad, but some of the best places I've found have been very close to home.

This area of the site started as a way of sharing some of the images with friends I've made on the 'net, but gradually it's affected the way that I take photographs. Instead of thinking of a single image, I now visualise a whole series with supporting text round them. It's as close as I've ever got to an online journal.

Here you'll find a random selection of places I've been to - at least the ones I've got round to writing up - I have about another 600Mb of digital pictures and rising. There are a few exceptions here as well, places linked to other stories. And finally, I've become hooked on wells lately. I have a whole project going on.

I also have writings about places I've never been to, but have studied - they're filed under weirdness.
