The opening of the new...
Leadenham Village Hall
When the residents of Leadenham, Lincs, heard that
their old village hall was to be demolished, they treated it as a setback rather
than a disaster.

The Lottery Fund, Lincolnshire County Council and North Kesteven District
Council added to the total. The remaining £32,000 was left for the three-hundred
or so residents to raise.

Whilst the money was being raised, plans were being drawn up and the
interior designed, mostly drawing on the skills of local people.

to take shape as the "The New Hall"

Finally, on 17th October 1998, the hall was opened by Her Majesty's Lord
Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mrs Bridget Cracroft-Eley: the celebrations
all day.

Money is still needed in order to complete the project, but Leadenham Village
Hall is most certainly...
