Provides knowledge and understanding of professional and research approaches, methods, methodologies and skills appropriate to the professional role, and fosters sufficient knowledge, understanding and skills to start a dissertation.
Objectives
- Systematic knowledge and understanding of requisite professional and research methods, methodologies and skills appropriate to the professional role, work-based assignments and a major independent research project
- Specific requisite professional practice, cognitive and emotional, project management and leadership skills, including in relationship to research methodology and methods
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding to identify topics and research methodology for postgraduate level assignments and literature base suitable for dissertation or project.
- Sufficient understanding and skills to confidently and freely commence and complete a major piece of research work.
Times
The seminar assembles at 08:30 am for a 9:00 am start each day and finishes at approximately 5:30 pm. The seminar is intensive, please be prepared for evening sessions.

£2000 Includes all tuition costs, full documentation, lunch and refreshments. Payable in advance.
Inhouse Training

Stewart Anthony is Head of the Centre for Environmental and Safety Management for Business at Middlesex University and former Director of the Capel Manor environmental management training centre.
Peter Martin, MSc is an independent consultant and management educator, partner in First Resource and associate of Brainwaves and the Halcyon Group. Formerly Project Director for "Projects in Partnership", Environmental Consultant. Co-author of "Towards Sustainability"' and before that Project Manager for BP and Fellow at the Office for Public Management.
Jeanne Steward, MSc (Social Research Methods) is an Assoc. Joint Course Director of the Centre for Sustainability and Environmental Management. She is Managing Director of a full service research organization, which she established in 1991, that works with a number of long-term blue chip international and national clients. Previously Jeanne coordinated consumer, business-to-business and organizational research with QED Research Limited. She is professionally interested in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and what they can offer to social and organizational diagnosis and the redevelopment of organizations in relation to sustainability. Jeanne is a Full Member of Market Research Society, Member of the Marketing Society and the Association for Qualitative Research.
