| Quodlibs | |
Quodlibs is a weekly email newsletter, sent to representatives of accredited providers, written by the Council's Chief Executive. Quodlibs started in 2002. Quodlibs covers a wide range of topics: running a small education business; pedagogy, assessment and accreditation; technical matters, both on- and off-line; and news, views and reviews, from the UK and abroad, affecting ODL providers. Quodlibs is informal. It's a commentary on the accounts of others, interspersed with the odd original thought. It's a blog, but one which strives for literacy, rather than making do with the run-of-the-mill ramblings that litter so much of the web, where ill-fitting English is too often portrayed as the new smart-casual. It offers a space where the accredited ODL community can share issues and discuss problems frankly and informally, to "sing freely" and with humour, as its name implies; quodlibs is not intended for general circulation. However, occasional pieces, often airing issues in and around education, may be of wider interest, and are published here; links are given on the quodlibs index page. I hope something of the flavour of the original comes across in these extracts. I recognise that they may not be to everyone's taste. But if we in education cannot prick the pomposity that passes for political life in this country, heaven help us. Whilst I do my best to keep quodlibs error-free, if anyone spots the odd blemish, please let me know. All opinions in quodlibs are. of course, my own, and not necessarily those of ODL QC
