The Institute is situated in its own freehold premises dating from the 13th & 16th centuries. These house an extensive library, and an excellent collection of family historical records, original manuscripts and unique resources. The research team is involved in investigations into the histories of families with genetic propensities to inherited diseases, in support of medical research. Library and research work is undertaken on all matters concerning heraldry, genealogy and related subjects. Details of Day, Evening and Weekend courses are available. The journal FAMILY HISTORY first published in 1962 continues to appear quarterly. There are also monthly Newsletters, an annual FAMILY HISTORY Diary packed with important information, and other publications to aid research. APPLICATION for Courses can be addressed to the Principal, Dr R C F Baker, FHG, or to the Registrar, Michelle Webber: registrar@ihgs.ac.uk" |
