HOMEWORK
Homework plays an important integral part of learning, in that it reinforces knowledge and helps to develop skills. It should be mainly related to classwork and geared to suit the ability level of the child. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved by monitoring homework given to ensure that it is done. Each homework given is recorded in the pupils DAYBOOK that parents sign weekly.

Children are given homework regularly where appropriate and it may take the following form:
(a) written
(b) learning
(c) reading
(d) research
(e) investigation
(f) design
(g) practical
Homework’s are always marked and marks may be recorded as part of Assessment.

Homework may be done in:
(i) exercise books
(ii) file pages, or
(iii) worksheets.

Content and presentation are assessed. Teachers use a variety of marking methods:
(1) grades
(2) numerical marks
(3) constructive comment

Comments regarding poor, good or undone homework may be recorded in the Daybook. Marking may indicate spelling or grammar mistakes

While they have a homework timetable, pupils have the flexibility to arrange their own homework.
