CAREERS
As a cross-curricular theme, careers are taught as and when appropriate within other subjects. Careers periods are timetabled formally in 4th and 5th year, each pupil having a single period weekly in each year. As well as career classes, the programme includes visiting speakers, work visits, visits to local third level colleges, interview techniques using employers and outside agencies.

Pupils also receive individual career guidance from the teachers and careers officers from the local Training and Employment Agency.

The pupils also use "video-conferencing" on the computer to research into career opportunities. These links are with local industries/commerce as well as with colleges and universities.

All pupils also undertake a week’s work experience in their fifth year with the appropriate preparation and follow-up.
