ST JOSEPH'S HIGH SCHOOL

ADMISSIONS
The Department of Education controls the number of pupils on the roll of each school. We are allowed 365 pupils, approximately 70 in each year group. The Department allows us to take no more than 70 new first year pupils. At present St. Joseph's has a teaching staff of 19 and an enrolment of 265 pupils.

In selecting children for admission to the school we apply the criteria as set out by the Governing body and the Western Education and Library Board's Handbook, copies of which are available on request.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR ADMISSIONS
P7 PUPILS:
The school holds an Open Night on a specific night in late January I early February each year. Parents and pupils of P7 in contributing schools are invited to attend. Parents and pupils that are unable to attend may arrange a visit at any suitable time by phoning the school and fixing an agreed time.

The date of the Open Night for the current year is Wednesday 3rd February 1999.

OTHER PUPILS
Parents who wish to transfer their son/daughter to St. Joseph's from any other secondary, high, or grammar school must make an appointment with the Principal to make the necessary arrangements.
