Middlesbrough Adult Education Service organised an awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of learners who attend basic skills classes. The ceremony was held at the Southlands Centre on Wednesday 14th May.

Dave Carter and his guest, Diane Rumins, enjoyed a buffet lunch before the awards began. The certificates were presented by Tanni Grey-Thompson, an athlete who won gold medals at the Para Olympic Games. Dave was very proud to receive his certificate for information technology skills + literacy skills. He did the course at Ayresome Industries where he works. He got on very well with Tanni and asked her to autograph his certificate.
