Interflam is the world’s longest established international fire research conference and has been held every 3 years since 1979. The tenth Interflam conference was once again held at the Edinburgh Conference Centre, Heriot Watt University, Scotland, 5th-7th July. With 110 technical presentations held in three parallel sessions, and 59 poster papers from representatives of organisations based in 25 countries Interflam continues to be the premier event in the fire science and engineering calendar.

These Proceedings are a record of work that was presented at the conference. Volume 1 contains the texts of the technical papers presented on day 1 and all the poster papers presented during the conference and Volume 2 contains the texts of technical papers presented on days 2 and 3. The latter includes contributions to the plenary session on the World Trade Centre Collapse - the tragic event which overshadowed our last Interflam in 2001
