Welcome to the places section. Here you'll find pictures and thoughts from many places that I have been to in my life. I have broken them into 3 distinct areas. The first section deals with Spain, where I spent many a happy year as a youngster.

The second section is devoted to one of my favourite destinations, Cuba. I visited Cuba in 1998 with one of my best friends, Graham Dietz, and we travelled round the island, from Santiago de Cuba in the south to the capital, Havana. Cuba is without equal as a country. Its mixture of gandiose buildings, wonderful natural habitat and its famous revolutionary slogans make it one of the most interesting countries in the world.

The third section is labelled Europe. It contains my thoughts and some images from all over Europe. In the past year I have made 3 separate trips, recently completing a 3 week jaunt of mainly Eastern Europe with Martin Barnes.
