This car joined my fleet in the summer of 1995. It had been owned by one family since new, and was in fairly good condition, although it had never been restored.

Shortly after buying the car, I wrote to the previous owner, politely requesting any information she might be able to provide on its history. I promptly received a detailed letter charting the car's history from new. I also obtained a production certificate from British Motor Heritage, which confirms this car as one of the first 200 VP1100s produced. It has never been fitted with seat belts, radio or external mirrors, and is understood to be the oldest still running in the UK.
