| 1: Copel | ||
Copel is a Japanese car company which manufactures retro-styled versions of popular Japanese cars. The Copel Bonito (right) is based on the Nissan Micra but resembles a Vanden Plas Princess, while the Copel Antiguo (far right) is based on a Toyota Corolla Estate but resembles a Jaguar XJ6 (from the front, at least). |

| 2: Best-sellers | ||
The BMC 1100/1300 was the best-selling car in the UK for almost a decade. The Toyota Corolla range was for many years the best-selling car in the world. Incidentally, it's worth mentioning here that the Fiat Uno was, for most of the 1980s, the best selling car in Italy, and indeed, Europe, where it vied for supremacy with the VW Golf. |

| 3: Japan | ||
During the early 1990s, the Vanden Plas Princess (and other 1960s/70s British cars) became very popular in Japan, with many of the best examples being exported there to find eager buyers at somewhat inflated prices. It was this wave of enthusiasm which led to the formation of companies like Copel (see above) and Mitsuoka, who make the Viewt (a Jaguar MkII look-alike, also based on the Nissan Micra!). |
