TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Direct flights to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are available from virtually all British airports. Flying time to the Canaries is approx. four hours from Gatwick, up to approx. five hours from Scotland. As ABTA agent No. 20432 we are able to book your UK/Canaries flight with most well-known British & Spanish airlines using modern and reliable aircraft types. All such flights are fully ATOL-bonded and guaranteed against surcharge.

There are no direct flights from the UK to the smaller Canary Islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. Clients travel via Tenerife, following directions & timings which we provide: see INTER-ISLAND FLIGHTS & FERRIES (below). If you ask us to book your inter-island flights we will do so as the agent of scheduled domestic Spanish airlines and provide you with a flight locator reference number when the booking is made.

In peak periods when accommodation is in heavy demand, it is our policy to give priority to those clients who book their flights through us at the same time as booking their accommodation. To avoid disappointment, please do not book your flights separately without first checking availability of accommodation with us.

Wherever possible we recommend flights which operate at CONVENIENT DAY TIMINGS. We believe in offering the best VALUE FOR MONEY, rather than the cheapest flights at poor timings which can spoil the beginning and/or end of your holiday.

Timings in the UK and the Canaries are normally the same except in spring & autumn when they may diverge by one hour due to Spanish/UK daylight savings time policy. Please note that it is important to re-check your flight details and timings upon receipt of your tickets.

When you ask us to make a booking involving transportation, we act as agent for the relevant carrier which will be indicated on your documentation. The conditions of carriage of that carrier apply and will be given to you at the time of booking. Some of these may limit or exclude liability.

FLIGHT DELAY PROTECTION

Occasionally flights are delayed, and although this is beyond our control, we recommend only those reliable ATOL-holders who assume a responsibility to do their best to look after you. Light refreshments will be provided if you are delayed over three hours, and in the event of a delay of over five hours, meals and overnight accommodation if possible. Additionally, included within our insurance is a special cover which provides you with a benefit should your holiday be delayed by 12 hours or more due to certain specified events beyond your control. Within the terms of this cover you have the benefit of £20 for the first full 12 hour delay and £10 for each further 12 hours (maximum £60).

INTER-ISLAND FLIGHTS & FERRIES

For air travel, inter-island prices are in Euros converted at the date of purchase, but allow approx. £75 (return) to both El Hierro and La Palma. It is essential to pre-book your return inter-island flights at the same time as your overall holiday. Most international flights land at Tenerife SOUTH airport, but all inter-island flights are from Tenerife NORTH airport. This may make it necessary to travel between south & north airports either by taxi: 80 Euros each way (approx £57), or public bus (£6.00).

Although La Gomera now has a small airport, there are no flights from Tenerife's international (south) airport. This makes the only practical route to La Gomera by regular ferry from Los Cristianos: about 30 minutes by taxi from Tenerife South airport (taxi approx. £11 each way). Ferry tickets are on sale at the marine terminal. Return fares are approx. £20. Overnight ferries run to El Hierro (three times per week) - details on request. It is not necessary to book inter-island ferries.

HOLIDAY DURATIONS

Most holidays are arranged in multiples of seven days: i.e. one or two weeks. However, a limited number of 10 and 11 day holidays are also available to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Extra weeks in excess of two weeks may also be booked (subject to availability). Long stay holidays which include a UK Public Holiday normally carry a peak supplement.

CONDITIONS, EXCLUSIONS & WARRANTIES: conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy whilst general exclusions, conditions & warranties will apply to the whole of your policy.
HEALTH: your policy may contain restrictions regarding pre-existing medical problems concerning the health of the people travelling and of the people upon whose health the trip will depend. You are advised to read our policy carefully.
DANGEROUS SPORTS OR PASTIMES: if you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a high risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.
PROPERTY CLAIMS: these claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose or damage them and not on a "new for old" or replacement cost basis.
POLICY LIMITS: most sections of your policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example: for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you.
POLICY EXCESSES: under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is the excess.
REASONABLE CARE: you need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property.
COMPLAINTS: your insurance policy will have in it a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
"COOLING OFF" PERIOD: your policy contains a cooling off period during which you can return the policy and get a refund, if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover that it provides. HEALTH & PASSPORT NEEDS

No special health precautions are required for travel to the Canary Islands. However, several useful leaflets are available from post office counters, including 'The Traveller's Guide to Health - Before You Go' (SA40) which is updated on Prestel, and 'While You're Away' (SA41). A full British passport is required for travel to the Canaries. This now includes children under 16 years of age who may previously have been included on an adult's passport. Non-British passport holders, or holders of British passports in the C or D series (Dependent Territories), should check for visa needs with the Spanish consulate prior to booking. You should ensure proper time to do this especially at peak periods. Compliance with passport & visa requirements must be your personal responsibility.

PAYMENT IN CASH

While most of our clients pay the balance of their holiday by cheque, some may wish to pay in cash. In order to assist such clients, we also accept payment via the National Girobank TRANSCASH system. This means you may settle the balance of your account in cash, directly across the counter of over 20,000 post offices and paying-in points throughout the country.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As it is ESSENTIAL that you write your Holiday Reference Number on the reverse side of the Transcash voucher, it is NOT possible to pay the initial deposit in this way. Nor is this method acceptable for late bookings.

100% FINANCIAL SECURITY

Corona Holidays of London Ltd. is an independent, all-British company and a member of ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) in both Tour Operator and Retailer classes (Nos.V307X & 20432 respectively). This provides for the protection of your money in the unlikely event of our financial failure.
If you ask us to book flights for you, we act as agent for the flight provider, (a licensed ATOL holder), of whom you will be advised in writing. All air travel is arranged within the terms of the Civil Aviation (Air Travel Organisers Licensing) Regulations 1972. You will receive the ATOL-holder's confirmation invoice which provides financial protection for your flights under the ATOL bonding scheme. Such clients also have the financial protection of the Government's Air Travel Trust, as administered by Trustees appointed by the Civil Aviation Authority.
For inter-island flights we act as agent for scheduled domestic Spanish airlines and will provide you with a flight locator reference number when that booking is made.
When accommodation is booked with us and clients make their own separate flight arrangements, our ABTA bond covers only those items of accommodation & etc. purchased from us.

Weekly rates include unlimited free mileage, comprehensive insurance, bail bond and collision damage waiver. All you pay for is the petrol you use, unless you arrive late at night, when there may be a local "out of hours" charge. CHILDREN & INFANTS

In all our accommodation, children aged 2-11 at departure will be given a reduction of £20 PER WEEK when accompanied by a minimum of TWO ADULTS per child, unless otherwise stated. Infant cots can be hired and paid for locally at all our accommodation. Prices vary around £15 - £20 per week.

On all flights, children aged 2 or more MUST occupy an aircraft passenger seat to satisfy Civil Aviation Regulations. Airlines make NO exceptions to this rule.

Infants travel for approx. £30, and must sit on an adult's lap, unless a spare seat is available. In accordance with Air Navigation Orders, an infant must be less than two years of age on the date of their RETURN flight. Anyone claiming reductions for "infants" older than indicated above will have to pay the full adult price, plus the appropriate amendment charge, before any of the party will be permitted to travel. In these circumstances, availability of additional seating on your flights cannot be guaranteed and any resulting delay or loss will be the responsibility of the clients concerned.
