Ross Adams Mar 04: left Albion to join Hednesford Town. Aug 05: moved to Chippenham Town (Dave B).

Chris Adamson moved to St Patrick’s Athletic of Dublin in April 2003.After starring there, he joined Sheffield Wednesday in Jan 05

Colin Addison resigned as Director of Football at Barry Town in Aug 04 one week before the season started. He continues to live in Hereford  (teletext). Sept 05 is an analyst for BBC Real Radio Wales (Hereford Times).

Paul Agnew is Director of Coaching of Whittingham FC, a major youth club based in a village near Lichfield. They’ve set up a coaching link with WBA.  Paul regularly visit schools to coach their youngsters and is employed as a part time teacher at Friary Secondary School. On top of all this, he’s taking his exams to become a driving instructor.Eve Mail 30/1/03

Arthur Albiston turns out for Manchester United in veteran five-a-side soccer tournaments and coaches their Juniors.He also has some radio work with GMR.  Hosts phone ins on talk sport – Scotland and an analyst at MUTV.  He’s the star turn for Red Letter Days at Old Trafford as host and coach

Sam Allardyce manages Bolton Wanderers and judging by his media quotes seems to have forgotten that WBA ever existed.

Kwame Ampadu July 05: moved from Exeter to Newport County.

Vetle Andersen (20 minutes against Bournemouth in 89) is no longer the coach/manager of local 3rd division team Sogne. He left complaining the players were not professional enough. He’s since joined as a player for 3rd division side Jerv. Stian Boe Jan 04

Colin “Diego” Anderson is currently a salesman of some description living in Yeovil.

Mark Angel Oct 04: has joined Kings Lynn.(Baggies Newspaper) Aug 05 moved to Cambridge United on loan.

Brett Angell Dec 04: since he hung his boots up in May 03 (with QPR),has had a difficult time. A football move to Ireland fell through , there was little work as a consultant available with a Surrey-based company called Progression Sports Management. “In his role as consultant, Brett talks to the players we represent when they are considering a new deal or a change of clubs.  Equally importantly, in between times he is available to give guidance from the perspective of an experienced player covering all the issues facing our clients.Brett’s earned a crust by scouting for Doncaster Rovers and stacking shelves short-term for Tesco. In Feb 04, he left the supermarket for a full time coaching position.  – Mirror 04  In Dec 04, he applied for the Stockport manager’s job.

Michael Appleton had to retire through injury. He’s currently working with Albion’s Youth Dept and will take all his coaching badges  Mail Nov 04

Jamie Ball was with Rugby United  in 2001 and has since left.

Richard Ball joined Halesowen Town in Dec 03 from Stourport and scored on his debut. However he didn’t settle and returned to Stourport in Feb 04. In July 04 he was sold to Sutton Town. In late Dec he moved to Evesham United.     BP Dec 04

Gary Bannister is living in St Ives. He has interests in two Cornwall Guest Houses in addition to coaching Portleven. His wife works in a local bank.  AG July 01

Mark Barham informed guests at the NorwichCitycentenary dinner (September 2002) that he has retired from playing, having had over 20 operations on his knee. As well as working on corporate hospitality for the club, he runs his own tool-hire company called Rent A Tool, located on Sprowston Road in Norwich Flown from the Nest.com

Brendan Batson left the Hawthorns in summer 2003 . He’s now working for the FA as a consultant.

Ian Benjamin was player manager of Wisbech but was sacked in 2003. He’s now in charge of Soham in the Ridgeons League, Premier Division. Cambridge Evening News May 2005.

Trevor Benjamin Jan 05: the ex Albion loanee is on his travels again –a month with Gillingham, followed by another at Rushden in November then another month with Brighton in January 04  but in March 04 he was recalled and played in Blues v Leicester in the Premier League. At the back end of 2004, he was loaned to Northampton and Leicester made sure he wasn’t coming back by paying off his contract. (Mirror 2/1/05) Feb 05: joins Coventry City until the end of the season. July 2005: Coventry offered him a one year deal in May 05, but at the last minute signed for Peterborough in June 05 for 3 years.

Dean Bennett signed a new deal with Kiddy Harriers until summer 2004. In July 04, he signed a two year deal with Wrexham  telextext

Marvin Blake was released by Bromsgrove as an economy measure. He joined Solihull in August 03 but immediately moved to Stourbridge   and then again to Bedworth Utd Jan 04

Luther Blissett was appointed as a strikers coach at Pompey in March 2004.

Adrian Boothroyd joined WBA as Head of Youth Development. In the summer of 2004, he joined Leeds United as first team coach before becoming the Watford manager in March 2005 everywhere

Stewart Bowen is running CAF, an industrial cladding business on the Springfield Industrial Estate, Oldbury.He has two little girls. He is busily building an empire in the Black Country which includes Greets Green Club. (July 05)

Mark Briggs Jan 04: signed a 2 year contract with Herfolge in the Danish 1st division after a successful trial in January 03 .However he left the club by mutual consent at the end of the year because he wasn’t getting anywhere near the first team. (Stian Boe). May 04: signed for Tipton Town in Feb 04. After three games for Tipton, he had a trial with Partick Thistle and then two months with Notts County before released again in May 04   (Football Transfers)  Aug 04: Signed to  AFC Telford. Nov 04: Moved to  Shrewsbury Town. Jan 05: Now Northwich. May 05: After 4 games for Vics, he moved to Redditch in late Feb 05. In April 05 he had a trial with Walsall., then in May 05, he was released by Redditch. June05: trial for TNS.

Adam Buckley was released by Lincoln May 2003. Also received 120 hours community service for thefts from players at Lincoln. Subsequently, Adam Buckley signed for Brigg last season 03/04, but only played a couple of games coming on as sub. Not fully fit and still living in the Grimsby area.  John Martin Aug 04

Steve Bull hogs the local press in his role as Wolves PR. He’s recently set up Steve Bull & Associates Ltd which purely caters for the investor abroad and is heavily involved in helping people choose the right investment property on the Costa Del Sol Sept 05 He has interests in a mobile phone company as well as running a corporate management events firm (ES)

Jimmy Dugdale  is retired after sadly having a leg amputated in 1990.

Alan Evans joined Albion for two years as a left half after being de-mobbed by the Army after World War 2. Terry Wills actually remembers him playing! He lost his sight in 1949 which believed was due to heading a heavy leather football. Alan is 80 and lives in Nursery Grove, Kidderminster. Alan Fettis moved to Hull from York on a free, after the Minstermen didn’t pay him for two months  He was on loan to Sheffield United for a month  in Dec 03 and since moved to loan in Mar 04 . In June 04, he signed for Macclesfield on a free  Teletext

Johnny Giles lives in Harborne and fronts the Irish equivalent of Match of the Day.

Michael Giles (Johnnny's son) March 2001 who was frankly far from the best young player Albion have ever had, didn’t stick around in the football game.  He went to Uni, picked up his MBA and became a solicitor. Currently, he lives in Winchester and works for NTL.(source Johnny Giles ). Aug 05 now lives in Vancouver with his family – Leeds United website 2005

Tony Godden runs a Goalkeepers Academy in Cambridgeshire for lads between 9 and 16. Four are with Premiership sides. He also works part-time for Chelsea   TG Oct 04

Don Goodman hung his boots up in Dec 03. He writes for the Express and Star, commentates occasionally for Radio 5  and has his own business, Formula Gfi.One of his clients is WBA. He does individual fitness with the 16-19 year olds.  Argus July 03

Jonathan Gould (Barmy’s son) Feb 05: signed for Hereford on loan but returned to Preston in October and was briefly first choice. He left Preston by mutual consent  and joined Bristol City. He was released by Bristol in May 05 July 05: in June he emigrated to New Zealand to be player coach of Hawkes Bay United. (He’s worked in NZ before). (See Next Generation and Sons and Daughters)

Josh Gowling Nov 03: joined Herfolge in July 03. By the end of the season, he was getting close to the first team (Stian Boe) July 05: released by Herfolge in May 2005 and commences a trial at Bournemouth in June 05. Aug 05: signed by Bournemouth.

Tony Grant July 05: released by Burnley in May 05 and moved to Oldham for a trial. Aug 05 trial with Stoke City.

Lee Hughes in August 2004 received a 6 year jail sentence for causing the death Mr Graham, aged 56, a father-of-four, of Eastern Green. He was a passenger in a car hit by Hughes's 100,000 Mercedes near Meriden just after midnight on November 23, 2003. Hughes then ran from the scene. See bbc.co.uk

Leicester City signed in July 04.  Released by Leicester, he joined Leeds United on a monthly contract in Feb 05, but did not make the first team. In late March 2005, he joined Coventry City. Coventry released him in May 05 without having played for the first team. In July 05 he signs for Mansfield Town.

George Reilly had his ear bitten off by a disgruntled Plymouth fan who had held a grudge over his team's defeat for 19 years. Reilly became a bricklayer after hanging up his boots and was working on a building site in Corby, Northants when a labourer punched him to the ground, The Sun newspaper has reported.  The attacker chewed off one of Reilly's ears and whispered 'Plymouth' into the other one. Doctors had to use 50 stitches to sew 45-year-old Reilly's ear back on.02/03 season

Andy Thompson Aug 04 Joined Hednesford in October. He only lasted half a game before his old hamstring injury flared again. So he packed in. He has a UEFA B coaching and in September starts a sports science degree at Walsall campus of Wolverhampton University  (ES) . Aug 05 "I've just completed my first year of a sports science degree at Wolverhampton Uni. I hold a UEFA B coaching licence and I work with Telford College that's linked to the old Telford United.  I run the actual youth team that is linked to Telford United.  I have been doing that for about a year and a half and I also work over in the development centre in Birmingham as well.  I want to finish my degree before I even think about coaching as a career.  There's been opportunities were people have offered me jobs, but I want to finish the degree first." Brian Talbot resigned from Rushden after 7 years in charge and took over Oldham Everywhere Mar 04. He resigned in Feb 2005. In April 05, he became the new Oxford manager.

Garry Thompson was briefly acting manager at Brentford in March 2004 but has since left the club. He became assistant caretaker manager at Farnborough in Feb 05 but resigned after just 34 days.He’s now a scout for QPR.  (Gary himself May 05)

Imri Varadi joined the Stellar Group to work with young players as an agent in the north of England in 2002, becoming a fully licensed FIFA Agent in March 2004. He also helps to provide commentary on games for both P.A. Sports and BBC Radio Sheffield.  - Stellar Group Apr 04

Jason Van Blerk joined Macclesfield in March 2004 but left in May. He joined Mossley in August 04, then moving to Hyde United. He then had a spell with Wooolongong Wolves (South of Sydney) before signing for Colwyn Bay in Dec 04 . In March 2005 he joined  Runcorn Halton. -  Dave Baxi

Arthur Vincent has just celebrated his diamond wedding. He joined the Baggies in 1939 but the war years meant he only managed only one first team game. Arthur, who was born in 1920, still lives in the Black Country -ES Aug 03

Tommy Warmer was released by WBA in summer 04 at the age of 20.  After a trial with Worcester City gave him a contract. “He’s a great prospect” said Chairman Dave Boddy - WEN Nov 04

Ray Wilson left the auto parts industry in 2001 to take over his wife’s company, Vanda, who specialise in corporate clothing - Albion News Dec 03 He still lives in Sutton Coldfield with his wife. He is an avid golfer, claiming a handicap of 5!, and an armchair supporter of Falkirk football club.
