progress in the Coventry v Bristol Oty game. The teams
played out in the remaining five minutes a 2-2 draw which
sent Sunderland down into Div 2. Jimmy Hill, Coventry's

15 The Daily Express reports that Ron Greenwood has been
chosen as temporary manager of the England national team.
He will be in charge during the autumn internationals

Italy.
16 Ron Greenwood says: there's little I can say except
that I have talked to a member of the FA on the telephone
twice, and I have an appointment later this week."
West Ham chairman, Reg Pratt, says that his club will
release Greenwood, and will gladly re-employ him when his
job with England comes to an end. In the meantime
