In December, Bryan Hamilton (Linfield) the former Ipswich Town and Northern Ireland player and manager, was appointed by the Republic of Ireland to find a replacement for Mick McCarthy. Bryan has been seeking potential managers and will be involved with interviewing the shortlist. Bryan has not verified how many players are on the list, though it is believed to be six. The bookies have made Brian Kerr and Bryan Robson (ex Man U) the favourites. Players from this site, whose name has been linked include Joe Kinnear and Kenny Dalglish (Celtic). In a Radio Five interview with Joe Kinnear earlier in the month, Joe said he would not agree to being interviewed for the post as his career achievements speak for themselves.
