| Bob 70-71 | June / July 2002 NewsNews of other stars from the 1970-71 season Jim Smith Returns - Kevin Bond Changes Role Jim Smith (Boston United), who was sacked in April ('02) by Coventry City, has joined the fellow Division One side Portsmouth to be Assistant Manager to Harry Redknapp. Last season, Portsmouth finished just 17th. As part of the move, Next Generation star Kevin Bond, son of the former 70-71 Bournemouth manager, John Bond, moves from the Assistant Manager's role to Reserve Team Coach. See BBC SPORT Redknapp welcomes Smith Macari Sacked - Jordan Out, too Huddersfield Town's distinctly average performance last season, in which they reached the Division Two Play-offs but failed to get promotion, has led to Lou Macari (Celtic squad) losing his job as manager. Along with his departure is the news that his assistant Joe Jordan (Morton) failed to has his contract renewed when it ran out also. Huddersfield Town have since appointed Mick Wadsworth. Now Mick was 19 at the start of the 70-71 season, which I reckon makes him a good bet for being a 70-71 player . However, he certainly wasn't on a League team's books, so if anyone knows Mick's footballing whereabouts in the 70-71 season, I hope you'll write and let me know, so that I can include him in his rightful place.
