Billy Ayre (Not confirmed as a 1970-71 player)

At the age of 49, Bury assistant manager Billy Ayre passed away on April 17, after succumbing to lymph node cancer Ayre, a tough tackling centre-half in his playing days, was a popular character famous for his never-say-die attitude on the pitch and his sense of humouroffit.
He played for Hartlepool United, Mansfield Town and Halifax Town, where he became player-manager before further management spells at Blackpool, Scarborough and Cardiff City Current Bury manager Andy Preece described him as the ultimate professional and a man who could make you laugh at anytime...

Jimmy Quinn (Celtic squad) 1948-2002

Jimmy Quinn made his debut for Celtic against Rangers on New Year.s Day 1968 and made 41 appearances in total.
The grandson of another Jimmy Quinn - a Bhoys legend at the turn of the century - he began his career as a member of the famous Quality Street Gang, playing alongside the likes of Kenny Dalglish and Lou Macari. Despite his potential, Quinn's time at Celtic was troubled with injuries, and in 1975 he joined Sheffield Wednesday, where his career was cut short by injury He passed away on April 25, aged 54, after collapsing at his home.
