Shilts Scores

It was the first change in the starting line up for 9 games for Harlepool, which brought Sam Shilton, Peter's son, into the side yesterday. Sam rewarded his manager's decision by making it 3-1 to Hatlepool in the 65th minute away to Barnet in this Third Division match. That was the final score and Hartlepool are 7th in their League which keeps them in the final play-off position. See The Official Hartlepool United Football Club

Louise is the Unofficial 70-71 Babe of the Year

Louise was involved in F365 vote of Babe of the year. The appeal from this site to up the numbers of votes for 70-71 Next Generation Babes, clearly had an effect (someone might be conned into believing me). Struggling with barely a vote before highlighted by this site, Louise shot up to number two in the ranks. The winner was Kirsty Gallagher.

Cheque This Out

Gabby Yorath

Gabby Yorath with charity cheque for Daniel Yorath Appeal.

Tragically, Terry Yorath's (Leeds United squad) son, Daniel, died before he had made his mark in the sporting world. This piece about the Daniel Yorath Appeal which is supported by his sister, Gabby, is in this month's 'Yorkshire Life' ( January 2001):

Almost 25,000 pounds was raised at the sixth Daniel Yorath Golf Classic and Sportsmans Dinner organised by the Daniel Yorath Appeal for the Cardiomyopathy Association. Held at Moor Allerton Golf Club, the late Daniel's sister Gabby - from the famous sporting family headed by father Terry collected the proceeds of almost 25,000 pounds on behalf of the charity. which helps people deal with cardiomyopathy, which is the number one cause of sudden heart death in those under thirty. Organisers asked 'Yorkshire life' to help them thank major sponsor Carphone Warehouse and the many other companies and individuals who made the event possible.

News From The Jordan ...

News from the Jordan household. Joe Jordan (Morton) who recently become the assistant manager of Huddersfield Town, has not one but two sons playing or on the verge of playing League football it seems.

The tale begins with the news that Andy Jordan, who started the season at Bristol City, sored an own goal playing for Cardiff City against Exeter City in Division 3 on New Year's Day. Cardiff City won the tie 6-1, so hopefully he escaped getting too much criticism ! See http--www.virtualcardiff.co.uk-bluebirds-1jan2001.htm

Andy had apparantly moved to Cardiff City in October for 30,000 pounds. The Cardiff City site I visited says that Andy is a Scotland Under-21 team regular also, which I hadn't realised before either. See http--www.virtualcardiff.co.uk-bluebirds-20oct2000.htm

Whilst investigating all this, I came across the news that Andy's brother, Tom, is a 3rd Year Scholar at Bristol City, and recently graduated to the City reserve side. Tom has not yet turned out for the first team at Bristol City. See http--www.bcfc.co.uk-academy-academyteams.html

Owen Scores - In Four Goal Arsenal Thumping !

I had a Christmas break and never got around to reporting the part of Michael Owen- son of Terry (Bradford City) - in Liverpool's unexpected walkover of 2nd placed Arsenal in the Premier Division, just before Christmas.

It was 1-0 to fourth placed Liverpool at half-time in thier home match against their League rivals, and going all very well. Then Owen scored in the 61st minute and it proved to be the first of three second half goals that gave Liverpool their 4-0 win. See liverpoolfc.tv teamsheet 2000-2001 december Liverpool 4 - 0 Arsenal

Lampard Scores - In Two West Ham Vicories

As I play catch up with Next Generation goalscorers, I've acually got two to report from Frank Lampard - Frank Lampard (West Ham United) Senior's son. The first goal was West Ham's third in the first half against Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day. Scored in the 44th minute in this home Premiership tie, West Ham went on to thrash Athletic 5-0. See West Ham United FC -org Charlton Athletic

Next up was the opener in the away tie to Walsall last Saturday in the third round of the FA Cup. Scored in just the sixth minute, West Ham United of the Premier Division won 3-2 against Walsall from Division 2.

Scot Gemmill Scores - But Royal Blues Lose to Sky Blues.

Again this one was back on Boxing Day in the Premier Division clash between Everton and Coventry City. Scot - Archie Gemmill's (Preston North End) son - pulled Everton back to 1-1 in the 84th minute in their home tie, but the team still managed to lose 2-1. This was Scot's first goal this season.
