Dalglish Off !
Paul
Dalglish - Kenny's (Celtic squad) son - has been on loan
from Norwich City to Wigan Athletic since March 22nd.
This may have passed by unnoticed on Bob's 70-71 Pages ,
but for the fact that he managed to get himself sent off
twice in three days over successive matches ! Wigan's
home match to Oxford United and away match against Bury,
were both victories, but ended more quickly for Paul,
than his teammates...
Paul was
on loan for a month and managed 5 appearances in the
number 32 shirt, but didn't score. Wigan stand a very
good chance of making the Division Two play-offs in 6th
positon.

Ian Moore On
Ian Moore
is finally added to Bob's 70-71 Pages! Ian's Dad, Ronnie
Moore (Tranmere Rovers) has just won promotion to
Division One, so it seemed like a good time. Ronnie
himself was only added last month. Ian began the season
as a Stockport County favourite, but has since moved to
Burnley in Division One. Burnley have just missed out on
a play-off place this season.
Ian scored
20 League goals in 93 games for Stockport, and cost
Burnley one million pounds! So far he's already scored
six times in 28 games (or 5 in 24 League games) and three
of those were this month.
To date
Ian has scored 12 League goals and 14 total goals this
season, which must make him one of the highest scoring
Next Generation stars in 2000-2001.

April's goals see Preston North End Apr 7th (a 3-0 home win)

got the winner!)

Redknapp Returns !
Jamie Redknapp - Harry's son - has begun his comeback
following the knee operation that has kept him out of the
Liverpool and England sides all season. Last Monday he
played for Liverpool Reserves at Anfield against
Blackburn Rovers. It was a goalless draw, but Jamie did
have one of the game's best chances when his shot struck
the post from a long range effort. Jamie completed 60
minutes of the game.
Meanwhile
Jamie has been keeping up his off-field activities and
was featured in 7 April 2001 edition of the weekly
'Match' magazine launching England's new 3 Lions mascots.
The famous three lions on the England badge have been
brought to life as large blue-foam based entities,
dressed in the 3 current England shirts - white, red and
black-goalkeeper. See The 3 Lions
The idea
is to appeal to children. You can almost see the scene ,
'Hmm I think I'll knock the cr*p out of Stone Cold Steve
Austin on the Playstation ... no hold on I saw a large
blue foam lion yesterday, let's play footie instead!'

Oakes Out
Unlucky
Andy Oakes, - Alan's nephew (Manchester
City)- who had
finally broken into the Derby County team, is now out
till the end of the season with injury. The Official site
at http--www.dcfc.co.uk-press-index.asppr_id=1710 reports
Andy Oakes will be out for six weeks after injuring
the medial ligament in his right knee during
Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Coventry City.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off with ten minutes
gone at Highfield Road after he was in collision with
Moustapha Hadji when racing out of his area to
collect a poor Darryl Powell back-pass
Subsequent scans on Monday showed that he had picked
up a third degree sprain of his medial ligament,
meaning a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The goalkeeper, who came into the side after Mart
Poom injured his shoulder against Charlton, started
six games for the Rams before Saturday's clash -
including featuring in a run of five unbeaten league
games where the Rams picked up 11 points.

Todd
Scores ! - First For Charlton
Well done
to Andy Todd - Colin's son (Sunderland) - for scoring his first goal for Charlton
Athletic. It was also his first goal in the Premiership
since the last day of the 1995-96 season, when he scored
for Bolton Wanderers against Arsenal in a 2-1 defeat.
This goal
against Leicester City last Saturday opened the scoring
in the 33rd minute, and the game ended up 2-0 to Charlton
Athletic. This was a something of a 'six-pointer' for two
teams, who will be battling for a UEFA Cup place if they
can end the seasons with a good run. Charlton are 8th in
the League and on Sunday were only 5 points from a
Champions League place. Ipswich's victory has since
increased this to 7 points, however.

Gray
Moves
Stuart
Gray - Eddie's son - has been released by
Reading at the end of his contrct. He has now moved to
Confernce League leaders Rushton and Diamonds. Hence, he
stands an excellent chance of returing to League football
by next season. Rushton's Official site at DIAMONDS SIGN GRAY reports :
DIAMONDS SIGN GRAY
Stuart Gray has joined
Diamonds on a free transfer after his contract with
Second Division Reading was cancelled by mutual
consent.
He put pen to paper at Nene
Park on Friday afternoon, and the initial deal will
see the 27-year-old former Scottish under-21
international at the club until the end of the season
when both parties will review the situation.
Stuart, whose father Eddie
is assistant to David OLeary at Leeds United,
explained how the chance of a move to Nene Park came
about.
"I first heard about a
month ago through Brian McDermott who is friendly
with the manager here, and since that time Ive
been dying to come here and speak to Rushden.
"Unfortunately, Ive had an injury, but
thats now been sorted out. I came up to speak
to the manager on Monday and obviously I was
immediately impressed with the set-up here.
My intention is to do well
and earn myself a longer contract."
And Stuart has no qualms
about dropping out of the Nationwide League.
"Not at all. My main
objective is to be playing and unfortunately, for one
reason or another, I wasnt doing that at
Reading, so coming here gives me the chance to play.
I start training on Saturday and Im looking
forward to that. The manager has said theres a
reserve game on Monday which Ill probably take
part in."
Manager Brian Talbot added:
"Stuarts a quality player whos got a
good left foot. We havent got any cover down
that side. Underwood is injured and weve got
Setchell and Burgess playing. Were going into
the last six weeks of the season and we need to cover
all options. So hell be a valuable addition to
the squad. Hes looking forward to coming here
and enjoying his initial six weeks with us. Obviously
his dads been here with Leeds, so hes
heard about us and I think hes enjoyed
listening to what Ive got to say about the
prospects of the club. Its a club which has
ambition and wants to progress. Hes very
impressed with our facilities and i think he wants
another challenge. He can do a job for me, the team
and himself."
