'The Lion of Vienna' is a well known Bolton pub, named in honour of Nat Lofthouse. The pub is situated on Chorley New Road, next to Bolton School.

2 December 1989 Nat was made a Freeman of Bolton.

1 January 1994, received an OBE

18 January 1997 East Stand at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium named after him, see Statues.

2002 Nat became an Inaugural Inductee into the English Football Hall of Fame
