| Bob 70-71 | October 200031 October Well natrually the time is right to add Sven Goran Eriksson (Degerfors). Welcome also to Pat Jennings' son Pat Junior who has been added to the Sons and Daughters page. Thanks to the 'Non League Paper' for highlighting yet another newcomer. There's also now a new service - the up to the minute soccer headlines can be seen at www.bobdunning.net 25 October Jim Ross has sent a further picture of the Topical Times album, and I've added a few more other years, too. Billy Bremner's page has had a bit of an overhaul to bring its links up to date. Both Jim and Ian Corry have sent some fabulous pictures of players which I hope to get up on to the site over the next month or so. To start with there is now (at last) a page for Jimmy Greaves. 22 October There is now a new quiz to try your hand at. Well done to Andrew Vause for getting the top score in the last quiz. 21 October Thanks to Andrew Vause's email, Neil Clement of West Brom has been added to the Sons and Daughters pages. 18 October Following emails from Jim Ross, see some 1970-71 Football Boots, editions of 'Topical Times Football Book', and some 1970 editions 'Charles Buchan Football Monthly'. 17 October Finally traced down Tommy Docherty's whereabouts in the 1970-71 season. He was at Oporto - which I presume is F.C.Porto of Portugal. If I'm wrong you'll have to let me know. So Tommy is now added to the site in his own right, not just as Mike's father. And I found out from Richard Whitehead's latest Saturday Times 'Photographic Memory' - a feature which replaced last season's 'Picture Points'- that the Fulham manager, Bill Dodgin's father, also Bill Dodgin , was also manager of Fulham ! Bill junior sadly died aged 68 in June of this year. I've added Bill's name to the pages and Bill senior to the Sons and Daughter's : Father's page. 16 October Index redeveloped to help navigation. Hopefully. Biggest change to the look of the site for some while ... 14 October John Brownlie has been added to the Hibernean information since his appointment as Arbroath's manager. Paul Brownlie of Arbroath has been added to the Sons and Daughters : Sons page. I 've also added the names of Alex Cropley, Arthur Duncan, and Pat Stanton. Due to the interest shown by, Jim Ross, Bob's70-71 Pages' US Correspondant, Arbroath's top scorer in the 1970-71 season and current all time highest club goalscorer - Jimmy Jack - has been added, along with team mates, Jimmy Cant (most played player in the 1970-71 season), Tommy Cargill (Arbroath's all time most played player), and Kenny Payne. 12 October Time does not always permit a review of the major UK football monthlies - let alone weeklies, and sometimes even if I have bought them, and reviewed them I don't always have time to type them up. Hence I slip behind. Well this month I finally found time to write up September's magazines, so I have included them in last month's reviews rather than this month's. See September 2000 reviews. Stan Harland from the Swindon Town League Cup winning team got a mention in the reviews and has hence been added to Bob's 70-71 Pages. 10 October Well the biggest news for some time is the arrival of a Yahoo Club which anyone who wants to talk 60s and 70s Soccer can now do so. Even if it's to tell everyone their Dad was was Hedon's centr back in 70-71 or to leave a picture of the Doncaster Rovers team -here's the forum to do it. See Yahoo! Clubs sixtiesandseventiessoccer Once again I've the 'Non League Paper' to thank for adding the names of Graham Turner (Chester City) and Colin Addison (Sheffield United squad) to Bob's 70-71 pages. Due to this, I've subsequently created individual pages for Chester City and Sheffield United - adding the 1971 team photgraphs. And so as not to upset half of a City - the Sheffield Wednesday page and picture have been added, too. 7 October Recently got hold of some images of Daily Mirror cards with the team photographs of teams at the beginning of the 1971 -72 season, which will be added over time. So far pictures of the teams have been added to Crystal Palace, Derby County, Leeds United, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. Due to this Bristol City and Bristol Rovers now have their own club page - the first time clubs from outside the Division One teams have had their own page. If anyone can send me scans of team photographs from other teams in the same series - please do ! 6 October Typhoo Tea used to print pictures of footballers on their boxes, and if you collected enough you could send off for full size colour cards of the players. 7 of these cards can now be seen at
Bobby Moore's page has been updated to include one of the Typhoo card pictures and a signed picture of the Fulham Cup Final squad of 1975. And the Typhoo pictures have been used to start pages for Mike England, Martin Peters, and Mike Summerbee. There's great new pictures of , Manchester United's 68 squad, Kevin Keegan and Gordon Banks 1 October October 1970 headlines are available from today. And there's a new Quizlet - asking 'who was the biggest trator ???'
