Arthur Shepherd was established at its present address in the historic heart
of the University City of Cambridge in 1902.
It has always been a family business selling good quality clothing.
In recent years we have specialised in
Barbour Country Clothing
and other fine British Clothing, for example Magee blazers, jackets
and trousers, including hand-woven Donegal tweed jackets and corduroy trousers.We sell moleskin trousers grey flannels and Cavalry Twills.
We sell Wellington boots by Hunter, Le Chameau and Town & Country and Hunter Welly Socks. We sell Jack Murphy raincoats for men and women.
We have R M Williams boots and clothing. Also the Harold Brumby boot.
We have Magee overcoats.
We sell hats and cloth caps and French Basque berets.
We sell Chatham and Rockport shoes.
We always have a splendid array of knitwear, in Shetland,
Lambswool, Cashmere and Merino wools. Our Shetland sweaters are made by Harley in Peterhead, our lambswool by William Lockie in Hawick, we have 21 different colours in round and V necks. We have genuine Guernsey sweaters.
We have a good stock of Italian knitwear in fine Merino wool; round necks, V necks, slipovers, turtle necks and polonecks. From Florence, we sell Cantini knitted silk ties in many colours.
We stock Sunspel underwear
and send it all over the world.
We have scarves in lambswool, merino wool, mohair, cashmere, camel hair and silk and wool,
Pantherella, Falke and Scott Nichol socks, Viyella shirts and socks, Wolsey socks and John Comfort cravats and foulard ties.
Being near Trinity College, we sell Trinity ties: Field Club and 1st and 3rd.
We sell woollen ties from Calzeat of Scotland and tweed ties from Anthony Haines of Selkirk.
We have Derek Rose pyjamas with girdle waist. In our Irish department we sell Aran sweaters, Irish Linen handkerchiefs, scarves, patchwork caps and bags and Mohair throws. Our latest enterprise is to sell some ladies clothes; Magee tweed or silk and linen jackets, other tweed jackets, black formal jackets by Dalmata of Portugal and skirts and cord trousers; other things you will have to come in and see.
We are open from Monday to Saturday 9.0am to 5.15pm.
