Mark Leyner

US author of humorous short stories armed with a densely glittering prose style and an unshakeable, plot-informing belief that he is the most significant person on the planet. Super-popular among a Venn subset of AP writers led by Dave Green and Cam Winstanley for about nine months after publication of his supreme achievement, the full-length book Et Tu, Babe; then dived clean out of our collective heads never to be squawked over again.

Cam's innovative Would Just Like to Say double entry in AP49 ("I have the new Mark Leyner book"; "And you haven't. Nyaa nyaa nyaa") prompted by his securing of an advance manuscript of the Et Tu follow-up neatly pinpoints the moment we lost interest in Leyner six weeks previously.
