*In a bizarre twist, while the unauthorised copy of AP2 is definitively on CU Amiga's CD, the initialising link from their disc mag section is missing. This becomes a central plank of Emap's defence; that AP2 was never intended to be on the CD, as concretely proven by the lack of a link, despite the fact AP2 IS on the CD. (In other words, "Oops, sorry about that; we messed up." Except after rudeness and threats.)

Quite apart from the fact that the associated claim (that AP2 is as a consequence extremely difficult to find on the CD and CU Amiga's readers are unlikely to do so) is a bag of old rubbish - the mag is so text-heavy that an ordinary search of the disc for just about anything will turn it up, plus we were alerted to the unauthorised copy by, er, some of CU Amiga's readers, Emap's defence is tragically FOR THEM no clear-cut issue. The uncontested technical ineptitude of their site-stripping method (eg, the lack of support for long filenames), which Ben From Amiga Format confirms is a long-standing element of the CU Amiga CD, clearly implies to any reasonable observer that a missing link might just be part of the general hamfistedness of the enterprise.
