And we're off!

I haven't bothered scanning AP41's Ed's Letter to Subscribers, which JD had gratefully handed over when I arrived at the mag, because it's a traditional AP-letterheaded one-sided A4 sheet of boring words.

From this point, I began to apply all the lessons learned from Linda Barker's YS Subs Club; but gradually, because I was out of practice and had to cadge time on the AP Art Ed Mac when nobody was looking.

Ask Professor AP was, I think, an abandoned feature recycled from the mag proper, of the Gerald Falsely ilk. Certainly nearly all of the questions and answers are by Cam.

Les Dennis's Competition Time is nakedly an attempt to get people to write in, thus establishing the Subs Letter in its own little corner. The £25 prize for the worst local newspaper story was as much as I thought I could get away with when presenting it to JD as a fait accompli. Only later did it occur to me that £40 would have been 40x25 better, as that was the price of a subscription.

Two photos. Obviously not wanting to startle anybody at this point.
