'The bells were brought to Bidford by water in 1791 and a villa on the banks of the Avon is named 'Bell Court' with reference to this' (The bells are by John Rudhall of Gloucester and weigh between 52 cwt and 13 cwt.
Walters records that among the Bidford customs concerning the bells are: the pancake bell at noon on Shrove Tuesday ringing on Trinity Monday and November 5th (the Trinity bell perhaps connected with Bidford Trinity, the annual fair) as well as the weekly Sunday bells, ringing at Christmas, Easter, Whitsun, Saint Thomas' Day and New Year's Eve ringing for weddings and death knell within 24 hours.
